Katie and Grandma… getting into character

As many of you know, Katie and Grandma are based on my sister Kate and our real-life Grandma. Diplomatically, I suppose I kind of amalgamated both of my grandmothers, but it was my father’s mother who took us to museums.

Growing up in Suffolk, visits to galleries and museums were not something I had much chance of… But whilst staying with my grandmother in Weybridge, Kate and I were taken to London – and a whole new world of Grand Museums was opened up to me!

And now, 40 years later, I am facing a curious form of deja-vu, as Hannah Lucas and Karen Kennedy bring Katie and Grandma to life before my eyes, as they prepare for the World Premiere of Katie and the Mona Lisa.

Tickets are selling fast… and the play opens in just 10 days time. It’s going to be really wonderful, with superb songs and a fantastic cast!
