I’m suddenly getting lots of requests from schools to visit them on or around World Book Day next year. How kind… but unfortunately, I’m already very booked up in March. HOWEVER here’s a way that schools can have me visit on WORLD BOOK DAY for free!
Orchard Books and the World Book Day organisers have teamed up to host a brilliant “Katie” competition. Next year is her 25th anniversary, and we want schools to celebrate by being artistic and creative and inventive… All you have to do is use the time between now and Friday 24th January to get your children creating a response to a famous painting featured in a Katie book. It could be art – murals, or illustations; It could be sculptures; It could be a play based on a painting; Creating your own books… it can be anything you want! It can be a class or a whole school project. And it can tie in with literacy, languages, history, geography, science, music… and art. Let’s see how amazing and inspiring teachers can be!
I’m looking for originality and creativity and the school that creates the most spectacular work – and it can be anything – will win a free visit from me on MARCH 6th 2014 (World Book Day). It can be ANYWHERE in the country, so don’t hold back! go for it! I also want to tell you that World Book Day 2014 is the day before a landmark birthday. So I will also be looking for a school who can help me celebrate and make me especially welcome.
Is that your school? Then get going now!
