The series of events so far, celebrating Gaspard the Fox, has been an extraordinary whirlwind! Events in Gaspard’s own Islington, all over Suffolk and Norfolk – where Zeb and I grew up – events in schools, shops, at Festivals… this love for the Handsomest Fox in London continually amazes and moves both of us.
I was moved even more when, on publication day, Zeb gave me an extraordinary gift – a plaque, on metal, glazed (like a special award at the Oscars!), using the front cover of the book. It’s a beautiful object and it now has pride of place amongst a few favourite things in my new Suffolk studio.

It was a wonderful gesture from the most wonderful colleague imaginable. Zeb has been just brilliant and the whole project a complete joy from start to finish. The little fox, who inspires such kindness and friendship is something very special.
Shortly after opening this very special, cherished gift, Zeb and I were whisked into a recording studio with Steve Wright (yes, THE Steve Wright) for a radio interview, to be broadcast on BBC Radio 2 from 2pm on May 31st.
Meanwhile, huge thanks to all those wonderful and assorted venues that have hosted our furry friend. At all of them there have been longer and longer signing queues. Zeb takes so much time with everyone, it’s a lovely thing to share.
