Gaspard, Best in Show is published today! (or should I say,”released into the wild”?). Author Zeb Soanes has created a hilarious, action-packed sequel to the best-selling Gaspard the Fox, and the new title was launched in style, at the Edinburgh International Book Festival.

Our Edinburgh event consisted of a masterful reading, from Britain’s “Most Trusted Voice”, from BBC Radio 4 – Zeb himself of course – and it was a joy to just sit and listen.
Afterwards, I drew Gaspard, LIVE!
Next came a Dog-in-Costume drawing challenge – five minutes to draw a dog in a crazy costume, as chosen by the audience. Terrifying for me, hilarious for everyone else!
This was followed by a long signing queue – but we made sure everyone got Gaspard’s Golden Paw Print in their book!
The very next day, Zeb was featured handsomely in The Daily Telegraph, where he discussed his career and his plans for Gaspard…

LASTLY some HUGE news, hinted at in this picture…
After over TWO years of planning, something wonderful is going to happen. Both Zeb and I LOVE working with orchestras… and so Zeb has written a whole new story (which will become the third book), for a NEW work, created for narrator and orchestra in the manner of Peter and the Wolf. The incredibly famous and sought after composer, Jonathan Dove (who has written operas for Glyndebourne!), has agreed to take the project on, a co-commission with the Philharmonia Orchestra, Three Choirs Festival, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonia Orchestra and Docklands Sinfonia. This is major new commission, and I’ll be painting live, Zeb will be narrating, and we couldn’t be more excited! We’ll be touring the work far and wide…
