Art in Schools

I don’t think I’m really a natural blogger. I’ve always wondered how people find the time. I also wonder who on earth would be interested in my ponderings. Still, here I am, for better or worse. I’m attaching a picture of a beautiful recreation of Turner’s The Fighting Temeraire. Children in Year 3 created it with me using emulsion match pots. Very messy! Very hard work. But so SO worthwhile. They are so proud of it, and me of them.

    Hi James,
    Welcome to blogger!
This painting is amazing and even better that some children painted this wonderful picture.
The colours are lovely and they have created a perfect Turner copy!

    Kind regards.
    Joanne.

P.S. I am now following you and I have left another comment on your previous post.

Great painting. Looks like everyone put in a lot of time as well as hard work.

Thanks for the kind comments. It was a whirlwind of activity – the painting was created in just an afternoon with 30 children scrabbling about. the hard thing for me is to NOT interfere! Obviously I guide and help, but I want the result to be theirs, not mine.
