This is to be the title of the new Katie book. It will be the tenth in the series and the eighth exploring famous paintings. This time the book will focus on just one artist – Claude Monet of course!
The paintings are proving much harder to imitate than I expected. Here are some of the pieces – all work in progress…
The pastiches here are based on two of Monet’s paintings, the Rue Montorgueil (with the flag and terrifying perspective!!!), and the Bathers at La Grenouillere.
As a Monet fan, I am really looking forward to the new Katie book. I have the other “Katie at the Gallery” stories and used them recently with my Reception Class. They really loved the idea of disappearing into the paintings and were able to talk about paintings they have seen in museums or prints that they have at home.
I am also tempted by the idea of the Ella Bella concert at Hatfield however am not sure my three boys would be so keen!
