Around and about World Book Day I was fortunate to visit several terrific schools. My thanks to all of them for the warm welcome. St. Faith’s in Cambridge, Dame Bradbury’s in Saffron Walden, Eaton Square school in London and most of all, the wonderful Peppard Primary School near Henley-on-Thames. The latter school was the worthy winner of the Katie World Book Day competition (with their brilliant Katie film) and a royal reception awaited me there on the official World Book Day, with a lovely special lunch and the local press in attendance.
The pictures are from my visits to Dame Bradbury’s in Saffron Walden (who offered children a wonderful art workshop) and Peppard School (where we rolled out vast amounts of paper to create our own art masterpieces). All of which marked my transition from 49 to 50 in fine style. More on that another day, perhaps. But for now, enjoy the pictures while I enjoy the memory of the all the Peppard children singing Happy Birthday!
