When I was first asked to be Illustrator in Residence at the 2014 Edinburgh International Book Festival, I was naturally thrilled. What a colossal honour, in a city I love so much and have visited so often!
Now the reality is upon me. Seven events over six days! Illustrated concerts, exotic storytellings, Katie anniversaries, mural painting, big draw drop in… You name it, I’ll be doing it! There really are some unique events for families and something for everyone.
I’ve been practising in my sketchbook, and here are a few studies for the Arabian Nights Illustrated Storytelling and the Illustrated Pictures at an Exhibition, featuring a LIVE performance of Mussorgsky’s piano suite…
Some of the events are part of the Schools’ Programme, but here is a link to the PUBLIC events that you can book and come to. It’s going to be so much fun! I hope to see some of you there – make sure you come and say hello!
