Playing by the Book: An interview

bookPlaying By The Book is a marvellous blog, which is an essential resource for anyone interested in children’s books, literacy and childhood studies. It is the creation of Zoe Toft, whose enthusiasm and knowledge shine through the many fascinating posts, articles and interviews. Her reviews, often combining extraordinary suggestions for activities (often involving cake), are legendary (see her Ella Bella extravaganza HERE!).

A few weeks ago she asked me to embark on an interview about the changes to Katie’s Picture Show for the 25th Anniversary edition. Her questions were far from the usual fare I get asked. They were intelligent and unexpected and deserved honest answers. And now I’m very pleased that this interview is online, because I think it is the best I’ve ever given and covers a few key things that I do feel quite strongly about. I hope it might be of use and interest to teachers, parents and students of illustration too.

It’s called KATIE’S PICTURE SHOW: THEN, NOW AND THE CHANGES IN-BETWEEN And you can read the interview HERE!

Let me know what you think!
