It’s been a crazy few weeks over March, celebrating World Book Day. There have been schools with hundreds of children dressed as Gaspard the Fox, Birthdays celebrated (mine), many miles driven, many more children engaging in stories and pictures, and a week in Ankara to finish off with, with murals and music! Rather than describe it all in detail, I’ll share a few photos of what has been my happiest World Book day (Month!) ever! Huge thanks to all the schools, librarians and to Zeb and Toto: Berkhamsted School, King Alfred school (Hampstead), Beeston Hall School, Sheringham Primary, Stephen Perse School (Cambridge and Saffron Walden), Heffers Bookshop, Holtsmere in Hertfordshire, and lastly the British Embassy School in Ankara!
Here’s Stephen Perse School:
A bit of Narnia for Zeb and me!
Painting to music at Beeston Hall school in Norfolk:

And so to Ankara in Turkey… a return visit for me:
A Gaspard fan in Turkey!
The old bazaar…
The story of St George neatly combines Turkish and English myth. St George was born in Cappadoccia.
James and Toto (and Gaspard) immortalised in icing!
Toto painted a mural!
While I painted along to phenomenal tenor, Arda Dogan, from the Turkish National Opera!
Now it’s back to work, illustrating “Gaspard Best in Show” and finishing “Mrs Noah’s Garden”. – I’ll let you see a glimpse very soon!
