A Brush with Music – a new Patreon page!

I’m so excited to share a new venture with you. During LockDown in the Pandemic, I created many, many films of storytellings for yOuTube – all for free. But – like many – I need to pay bills, and as a self employed person I’ve lost so much of my work. Likewise musicians, many of whom have lost everything. So, together with two outstanding international musicians, a new site has been created – A Brush with Music!

Each film will feature a unique, specially recorded performance by Siu Chui Li on piano

And Alex Redington on violin.

I’ll be retelling the story behind the music, and then painting in time to the performance.

You can become a patron at different levels.

PRESTO – For just £3 per creation you can access all the films – never more than one a month, so it’s about £30 a year maximum. (Remember, that’s divided between three people!).

ALLEGRO enters you in a raffle – and the prize is my original artwork, signed and sent to you! that’s only £12 per creation, and comes with activities and notes too.

ADAGIO is for schools, and along with access to the films you can have a 15 minute Q&A Skype with either James, Siu or Alex. There are also substantial cross-curricular teaching notes and activities with this level. It’s £30 a creation – so over a year, about £300 – which is less than a day’s fee for an author visit, and which provides ten top quality films and teaching packs to use and re-use throughout the year.

5% of our profits will go to Nordoff Robins, the music therapy charity, who do outstanding work.

We really hope you will join us at a level that feels right for you. Get in touch if you have an questions. We look forward to carrying you away on a flying carpet of stories, music and art!
